But it is from ‘ol Gobbler’s Knob that our friend Punxsutawney Phil decided spring is on the way.
Tell that to people in the Midwest. Or Northeast. Or anywhere in the South. Or here, where it was -5 or -10 this morning, depending on who you talked to (through chattering teeth).
But Phil seems to be the expert. The expert vermin.
I say that it’s time to buck up and appreciate the last of winter! This year, I’ve been trying to ride out and appreciate all of the seasons (especially decorative gourd season). When spring comes, it will be lovely and fresh and I will be psyched and camera-happy. Few things make me happier than tulips, really.
But for now, a slew of winter scenes. To be viewed with coffee or hot chocolate or peppermint tea in hand. Under a down blanket. With wool socks on. To remind us that this can be one truly beautiful season, too.*

(can’t help but think it might be made more beautiful with these boots keeping my feet toasty:

I’ve only been talking about them for months, but haven’t yet taken the plunge. I’m hoping my tax refund comes through for me – big money, big money!)

I like writing, photography, reading, music, design, typography, paper products, days in the seventies and sparkly snow, Spanish wine and cans of PBR. I spent a year in Córdoba, Spain, working as a

Your pictures are amazing! I can’t help feeling that I’d like winter a little more if we had snow, rather than days upon days of soggy, gray, wet days. Which is exactly like spring and a good portion of fall. So, I guess maybe I’d appreciate that seasons more if we had them!?
Thanks, Jenn. Truth is, I probably would have moved to Portland quite some time ago if not for the weather. I get a little SAD (which makes me a bit sad….) around here, but the snow perks me back up. Rain…not so much.
Hang in there!
